Political Speech and Contextualization Redux
“What’s the difference between Iran, Syria and Japan? Only Japan hasn’t returned an abducted child.”
I’ve already mentioned how the National Mall is a platform for diaspora to target visiting nationals with messages they wouldn’t be able advertise domestically. The obvious extension applies as well, the targeting of tourists and residents alike on peripheral, personal issues by Americans. On a normal weekend, the Mall often becomes an agglomeration of proposals for economic stimulus and white Americans trying to get their children back from their Asian ex-wives (accompanied in protest by their current Asian wives).
During a high-profile event like the `Rally to Restore Honor’ or the `Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear’? Watch the fringe turn out in larger numbers with less-approachable/more-esoteric issues in larger operating groups.
